Title comes from an unpublished play Doyle wrote based on the American bits of “A Study in Scarlet”, starring Watson without Holmes. This was going to be Dexter-style serial killer!John and enabler!Sherlock, set during the beginning of A Scandal in Belgravia after the pool scene.
